機械式時計分解ワークショップ【2/24(木) 17:00-20:00 開催】
機械式懐中時計（直径5cm程度，最小部品は1 mmくらい）を分解・組み立てし、その構造と仕組みを体験的に学ぶワークショップを実施します。
本ワークショップでは、特に時計の心臓部ともいわれる「脱進機（échappements）」に着目し、分解を通じてその構造と役割を理解します。脱進機は、ゼンマイの巻き具合によって変動する力を制御し、時計が安定して正確に時を刻むための重要な機構です。
参考文献に数冊のフランス語の時計の専門書を用いて、スイス式を初めてとした代表的な脱進機の仕組みや、これまでの発展の歴史についても簡単な解説を行います。単に分解・組立をするだけでなく、“時間”を機械で制御するという高度な技術に実際に触れることで、ものづくりの奥深さと美しさを体感しましょう。

Mechanical Watch Disassembly Workshop ― Feb. 24 (Thu), 17:00–20:00
In this workshop, participants will disassemble and reassemble a mechanical pocket watch (approximately 5 cm in diameter, with the smallest components around 1 mm), learning its structure and mechanisms through hands-on experience.
The workshop focuses in particular on the escapement, often referred to as the heart of a mechanical watch. By disassembling the watch, participants will gain an understanding of the escapement’s structure and function. The escapement regulates the force transmitted from the mainspring—whose strength varies depending on how tightly it is wound—allowing the watch to keep time accurately and consistently.
Using several French-language professional watchmaking textbooks as reference materials, we will also provide a brief introduction to representative types of escapements, including the Swiss lever escapement, as well as an overview of their historical development.
Rather than simply taking a watch apart and putting it back together, this workshop invites participants to experience the sophisticated engineering behind the mechanical control of “time,” and to appreciate the depth and beauty of craftsmanship.
